Find the right solution

Here you can get answers to questions about which solution might be right for you and your home.

Yes, you can, if you hand in a floor plan at your local / nearest DUKA dealer. They will then send it to us and we will create the solution that best suits your home. Remember to state whether there is a suspended ceiling and where you want the unit placed.

For our TOP units, the standard counterflow exchanger can be replaced with an enthalpy exchanger that recycles both heat and moisture in the extract air. This provides increased comfort in the supply air. In summer, the supply air will contain less moisture and in winter it will be less dry. Read more about enthalpy hoods here.

Other options will be:
- Plants
- A humidifier
- Lower the temperature from e.g. 25 to 21 degrees

Placement and mounting

Here you can find answers to frequently asked questions about placement, mounting and installation of DUKA VillaVent units.

Yes, it can. The unit is equipped with insulation, which protects it from the cold.

Power packs with standard countercurrent exchanger:
Yes, it has to. When a warm and a cold airflow meet, condensation will occur, which is the case in ventilation units. A water trap ensures that the water is led away from the unit so that it cannot damage the unit's electronic parts.

Genin units:

On our Genin units with enthalpy covers, a water trap is not necessary as the moisture is also recycled.

The unit is placed on vibration-damping material, with a stable base, e.g. a piece of stable insulation (ground battens) with a plywood sheet on top.

Service and maintenance

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about service and maintenance of VillaVent generators.

We recommend changing the filters once a year. The filters should be inspected 4 times a year and can be vacuumed a few times.

The 380 Wi-Fi and Top 690 Wi-Fi units have a sensor that sounds an alarm when the filter needs to be changed/tilted.

We recommend pollen filters for households where one or more residents suffer from pollen allergies.

No, the unit is designed to ventilate the home 24/7. The unit should only be switched off in special cases such as emergency announcements where it is requested.

Should it be necessary to switch off the unit during the winter months, the doors to the unit must be opened as there is a risk of condensation forming in the entire system.

If the unit is very wet, it may be due to a fault in the condensate drain, e.g. the water trap is not working or the drain is clogged/frozen.

Remember to check the water trap and drain every time you change or clean the filter by pouring water through it. It is especially important that the water trap and drain are working when the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperature increases and the unit starts condensing. The pipework must be kept frost-free.

A missing or dried out water trap can in the worst case result in water not being able to drain due to the negative pressure inside the unit, which can lead to water damage and short circuits.

The recommendation is to clean the pipes every 5 years. Dusty and dirty pipes can cause dusty supply air and increase the pressure in the unit, which can lead to increased power consumption.

If you check your pipes, it is IMPORTANT that you do not screw on the valve in the centre, as these are regulated for the individual rooms and if one valve is screwed on, it affects the entire system and a new regulation may be necessary, so unscrew the entire valve instead.

Typically, the chimney sweep will be able to clean pipes, or there are companies that specialise in cleaning ventilation pipes.

Wi-Fi / DUKA Smart App

Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about our VillaVent control via the DUKA Smart App.

In this video we walk you through how to connect a VillaVentilation unit to the DUKA Smart App.

If the device loses connection during setup, it may be because the device code has been changed or entered incorrectly. Reset the device via the DIP switch buttons and start setup again.

It is only possible to change the device code after it has been connected to the home network, otherwise the connection to the device will be lost.

  • Check the power flow
  • Move all the dip buttons all the way to the left, then move them back to the right. The device is now reset to factory settings. May be due to an incorrect setting/combination
  • Log in to the device's FAN-WIFI network with the code 11111111 (make sure the mobile phone keeps this WIFI network even if there is no internet connected to this network)
  • Open the app and go to ”Home - Connections” and find the device. Check that this device has the password 1111 written in the ”Password field” in order to properly connect to control the device.

DUKA One Wi-Fi has the option to customise a weekly programme for speeds 1, 2 and 3 in the app.

DUKA One is intended to run 24/7/365, which we also recommend it does for optimal air exchange. All DUKA One units are made to be switched on at all times and the motor can be damaged if left off for long periods.
