Moist rooms such as utility rooms and bathrooms should not be over-pressurised, as moisture can be transferred to other rooms in the home. That's why we designed our DUKA One S6B and Pro 25 B to ensure proper ventilation of wet rooms.

We recommend our wet room DUKA One model is fitted with contact control and a humidity sensor to help reduce moisture in the room faster. This way, it sucks in moisture as needed in utility rooms and bathrooms and ventilates with heat recovery when the room is not in use.

When the contact sensor is activated, the device switches to forced extraction on stage II and when the humidity sensor is activated, the device switches to forced extraction on stage III.

Placement, mounting and installation

Here you can find answers to frequently asked questions about placement, mounting and installation of DUKA One.

No, you can't.

In the Danish climate, condensation cannot be avoided when cold and warm air meet. When ceiling mounted, this condensation will penetrate the unit's electronic parts and burn them off, which is why DUKA One can only be mounted in an external wall with a 3 mm drop towards the storm shield.

DUKA One units should be mounted in an external wall with access to fresh outdoor air. For best comfort, place the units away from living areas such as furniture, beds and dining areas. Position the units as high as possible, but it should be possible to inspect the filters every 3 months.

In addition, external conditions such as smoke from neighbours, snow, rain, etc. must be taken into account.

The units generally serve the room they are placed in. If several units are to be placed in a basement and/or home, but you do not want one in each room as recommended, the units should be placed either in the rooms with the greatest ventilation needs or where the greatest spread is achieved.

Note: If there is a temperature difference in the rooms, moisture will condense in the cold rooms. An even and stable temperature can therefore help prevent condensation.

If you are unsure which device to choose for your room, try our DUKA One selects here.

There are currently no standard accessories for this type of task.

Here it is necessary to increase the wall thickness with one or more spacers, or create formwork on either the inner or outer side.

Electrical work should always be carried out by an authorised electrician. If the cable is routed inside the wall, it should always be carried out by a professional. If the cable is routed outside the wall to a socket, the installation can be carried out by an authorised electrician, but the warranty may be void if the connection is incorrectly installed.

One DUKA One Ø100/Ø160 costs approximately DKK 45 - 200 in electricity per year if it runs continuously at full power all year round. See more here

The DUKA One has different sound levels depending on the model and variant. The larger models like the DUKA One S6 are the quietest model also recommended for sleeping and living areas. The DUKA One Pro 50 S model is also made for living areas and is especially good for basements as it can be placed a little closer to the ceiling.

Filters and maintenance

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about filter changes, filter alarms and servicing DUKA One units.

By S6 Plus / S4 plus the filter alarm is reset by holding the heat recovery button for 5 seconds.

By S6 Wi-Fi / Pro 50 S Wi-Fi / Pro 25 S Wi-Fi / S6 Plus Wi-Fi / S4 Plus Wi-Fi / S6W reset the filter alarm either in the app or by holding the heat recovery button for 5 seconds.

By S6 / S6B / S6B Plus / Pro 50 S / Pro 25 S / Pro 25 B Plus must be reset on Dip-switch no. 8. Tilt the button to the left and back again to the right to reset it.

By D6 reset the filter alarm by pressing and holding the filter button on the display for 10 seconds.

By Pro 50+ / S6 models, leave the device in standby (not switched off) while the green cable lug is removed and reattached.

The filters should be inspected at least every 3 months, where they should be cleaned or replaced depending on condition. At least once a year, the filters must be replaced with new original filters from DUKA Ventilation. It may occur that the unit is installed in an environment where a shorter maintenance interval than the minimum prescribed 3 months is required. For example, this could be in a dusty, dirty or humid environment.

For installations where there is a risk of mould, the device must be cleaned particularly thoroughly to completely remove dust and any fungal spores. It may be necessary to use a special cleaning agent. Failure to do so will invalidate the warranty on the product.

Depending on how clogged or worn the filters are, they can be washed or vacuumed a maximum of 3 times. Allow the filters to dry before reinstalling them in the device.

Organic particles from the device's surroundings can be deposited in the ceramic core or on the fan, so it is important to clean these parts as well. The easiest way to do this is to use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air. When using compressed air, the fan must be fixed so that it does not rotate uncontrollably.

Pro 50 S / Pro 50 S Wi-Fi / S6B Plus:

For units that have the core as a separate block, it is possible to lower the core into a bucket of lukewarm water and a gentle detergent and wash it. The core must be completely dry before reinstalling it in the unit.

The silencer should be cleaned by either vacuuming or washing it gently. Allow the silencer to dry before reinstalling it in the device.

Clean the pipework with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
DUKA Clean can be used here.
Allow the pipework to dry before reinstalling the core, motor and silencer.

Wi-Fi / DUKA Smart App

Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about our DUKA One devices with Wi-Fi

In this video we walk you through how to connect a DUKA One Wi-Fi device to the DUKA Smart App.

If the device loses connection during setup, it may be because the device code has been changed or entered incorrectly. Reset the device via the DIP switch buttons and start setup again.

It is only possible to change the device code after it has been connected to the home network, otherwise the connection to the device will be lost.

  • Check the power flow
  • Move all the dip buttons all the way to the left, then move them back to the right. The device is now reset to factory settings. May be due to an incorrect setting/combination
  • Log in to the device's FAN-WIFI network with the code 11111111 (make sure the mobile phone keeps this WIFI network even if there is no internet connected to this network)
  • Open the app and go to ”Home - Connections” and find the device. Check that this device has the password 1111 written in the ”Password field” in order to properly connect to control the device.

DUKA One Wi-Fi has the option to customise a weekly programme for speeds 1, 2 and 3 in the app.

DUKA One is intended to run 24/7/365, which we also recommend it does for optimal air exchange. All DUKA One units are made to be switched on at all times and the motor can be damaged if left off for long periods.

Moisture and radon

Here we answer the most general questions about how DUKA One can reduce moisture and radon

DUKA One can reduce moisture levels in cases where there is already insufficient ventilation in the home (both natural and mechanical ventilation).

We can't calculate how much, as moisture levels can fluctuate greatly, but ventilation will ensure that it cannot accumulate in the home, remain stationary and bind to surfaces, furniture and objects. Too much moisture in a home can lead to mould in the worst case scenario.

Watch this video to see how we go through ventilation and indoor climate:

DUKA One can reduce radon levels in cases where there is already insufficient ventilation in the home (both natural and mechanical ventilation).

We can't calculate how much, as radon levels can fluctuate greatly, however, ventilation will ensure that it cannot accumulate in the home. In homes with high radon levels where radon is inhaled, its radioactive particles can settle in the lungs and eventually increase the risk of lung cancer - so good ventilation is important to keep radon levels down.

Setting and use

Find out how to set up your devices and connect them so they run balanced.

We recommend only switching off the power to the DUKA One device when it needs cleaning. Shutting down DUKA One devices for extended periods of time may damage the product and may invalidate the warranty.

Create balanced ventilation:
If you have several units installed, we recommend that one half starts sucking air in while the other half starts sucking air out. This is set on the dip-switch of the unit. See the manual for each product to find out which dip-switch to use.

Ventilation mode or heat recovery?
Most often, the unit should be in heat recovery mode. Ventilation mode can be used during periods of high heat.

Speed:
Set the speed that best suits your needs. In most cases, step II will provide good ventilation in the home. But choose the setting that suits you and your needs.
