Select size of DUKA One device

Should I choose Ø100 mm or Ø160 mm unit?

When it comes to choosing between a Ø100 unit and a Ø160 unit, there are several factors to consider. Both options have their advantages and it depends on the specific situation and the needs of the individual.

Advantages of a Ø100 mm DUKA One unit

The Ø100 model can be the easiest solution, especially if you already have a Ø100-Ø125 mm hole, as many do. This can make installation easier and more convenient as there is no need to drill a new hole for the installation of a DUKA One. This also means that it can be a cost-effective solution and a good way to trial the product.

Advantages of a Ø160 mm DUKA One unit

On the other hand, the Ø160 model can offer several advantages, especially when it comes to heat recovery, air exchange and indoor climate. However, this requires a Ø170-Ø180 hole for the Ø160 model to fit properly. But this also allows for greater heat recovery, which can lead to more efficient energy utilisation and thus potentially reduce heating costs. In addition, a larger hole can allow for greater air exchange, which is essential for maintaining a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. It therefore contributes more effectively to removing polluted air, moisture and odours, as well as increasing the supply of fresh air, which is important for sleep, well-being and productivity.

The choice between Ø100 models and Ø160 models depends on your individual needs and priorities. If you already have a Ø100 mm hole and want a simple and cost-effective solution, it may make sense to continue with the same size. However, if you prioritise heat recovery, air exchange and indoor climate, the Ø160 models are a better option, although it may require drilling a new one or expanding to make a Ø160 mm installation.
