Placing ventilation in wet rooms - important to know before choosing DUKA One

When you need to choose ventilation for a wet room like a bathroom or utility room, location is key, What type of ventilation solution can be used. Wet rooms are divided into moisture zones, and special rules apply for distance to water sources and installation.

In this step of the Duka One selector, we help you clarify, whether the DUKA One is a possible solution - or whether you should choose a traditional bathroom fan instead.

DUKA One - distance to water source

A DUKA One ventilation unit may only be mounted at least 120 cm from the water source. Water sources can be, for example:

  • Showers

  • Bathtub

  • Washbasin

If the distance is shorter than 120 cm, the ventilation is in a humidity zone that is Too close to water impact for DUKA One to be used.

Placement 225 cm above floor - but too close to water source?

If your only option is to position the ventilation:

  • Minimum 225 cm above the floor

  • But below 120 cm from the water source

Can't you select DUKA One.

In this situation, you should instead choose a ordinary bathroom fan, which is approved for installation in this humidity zone.

Ceiling ventilation - not possible with DUKA One

Do you want to place the ventilation on the ceiling, DUKA One is also not an option.

The reason is that DUKA One with heat recovery forms condensation, which must be able to drain properly out of the device. With ceiling mounting, this cannot be ensured.

For ceiling installation in wet rooms, you must therefore only choose a traditional bathroom fan.

At a glance - what can you choose?

  • DUKA One

    • Minimum 120 cm from water source

    • Wall mounting (not ceiling)

  • DUKA One is not possible, If:

    • Distance to the water source is less than 120 cm

    • Ventilation should be placed in the ceiling

  • Bathroom fan

    • When placing closer to the water source

    • For ceiling mounting

    • In humidity zones where DUKA One is not allowed
