DUKA One BR18 quantity calculator
The number of of devices will always be minimum 2 pcs. This is due to recommendations and requirements for balanced ventilation. Therefore, you don't necessarily need to have 2 units in a room, but there must be a minimum of 2 units in the home.
Basic ventilation is a definition for a ’constant' ventilation which ensures basic air exchange. BR18 (Building Regulations 2018) has a general requirement for a basic ventilation of 0.30 l/s per m² heated floor area for residential buildings. Where this airflow is roughly equivalent to an air change of 0.5 times per hour, at normal ceiling height.
A little ventilation is better than no ventilation. How much you need to improve the indoor climate in your home can vary greatly. You may therefore find that you need more or fewer units than what we recommend.
*DUKA One S6B and Pro 25 B is designed specifically for bathrooms, utility rooms and toilets. It can still create a balanced indoor climate with other units, but cannot be linked to them. Therefore, it is not always necessary to have more than 1 unit in a bathroom, as long as you have an extra unit in the home.
What does the result mean?
Our calculator comes up with 3 recommendations based on the selected device running on the dimensioning stage 2.
NOTE: Keep in mind that there may be cases where fewer or more units than the recommended number are needed.
1. result is the number of DUKA One units for basic ventilation according to new build regulations
2. Result is the number of DUKA One units for indoor climate improvement
BR18 Result is calculated based on the requirements of the Danish ventilation standard. The figure gives the exact number needed to achieve an air change of 0.5 times per hour
While the majority of houses in Denmark are built according to building regulations before mechanical ventilation, their natural basic ventilation simply cannot be compromised. In these cases, your personal wishes and needs for the space define the size of the air change. People, animals, plants, function and activity are always something that can influence this size. The air change requirement is of course something that can be calculated by engineers, which unfortunately is not something we can do. Instead, we have made 2 different proposals based on typical customer choices depending on the general function of the area and the number according to BR18 requirements. BR18 requirements.
As this is an estimate and ventilation, unless a building regulation has to be met, is generally a subjective opinion, it is of course possible that you will find ’basic ventilation for storage space’ sufficient for living space and that some will want ’basic ventilation for living space’ in their storage space. Only you can define this need.

Do you need to fulfil BR18 requirements in homes?
You only have to fulfil BR18 requirements for new buildings, so if it's just an energy renovation with improved insulation, be aware that ventilation conditions must not deteriorate. This can be solved with DUKA One, for example.
DUKA One to BR18 requirements

The benefits of having multiple DUKA One devices installed in your home
When you choose to install multiple DUKA One units in your home, you unlock a number of significant benefits that improve both your indoor climate and energy efficiency. Whether you choose the units with Wi-Fi or without, the DUKA One ensures optimal ventilation and heat recovery that can make a big difference to your daily comfort.
Synchronised ventilation with DUKA One Wi-Fi devices
One of the most unique benefits of the DUKA One Wi-Fi units is the ability to link them together wirelessly so they can work in synchronisation. This means that the units can communicate with each other and switch between sucking dirty air out of the home and drawing fresh air in - all while recovering heat. The Pro process works by changing air direction every 70 seconds, creating continuous and balanced ventilation throughout the home.
By allowing the units to work in opposite directions, you avoid negative pressure or draughts that could otherwise negatively affect comfort. This system makes it possible to achieve a healthy and well-ventilated indoor climate while retaining the heat you already have in the room.
Simple installation and setup with DUKA One
With Wi-Fi devices, it doesn't take many seconds to connect them: WATCH VIDEO HERE, But if you have devices without Wi-Fi, they can also be connected with a signal wire so they still work in sync. As with the Wi-Fi devices, the system will change air direction every 70 seconds, ensuring a continuous exchange of old air with fresh, renewed air.
Improved heat recovery and energy efficiency
Whether you choose Wi-Fi or non-Wi-Fi devices, heat recovery is a key feature of the DUKA One. By recovering heat from the extracted air, you can reduce energy consumption and achieve savings on heating bills compared to natural ventilation. The efficient heat recovery allows you to ventilate your home without losing the heat you already have in your home.
Flexibility and scalability
A system with multiple DUKA One units allows you to customise the ventilation as needed. If you have more rooms or a larger area that requires good ventilation, you can easily scale the system by adding extra units. The flexible setup makes it easy to expand your system if your needs change over time.
