DUKA SMARTFAN
This user manual contains a technical description, user and service manual, technical data and installation guide for the DUKA Pro 30 / 70 / 90 fan(s).
Read this manual through before installation and use.
The installation must comply with the building regulations.
DUKA Ventilation reserves the right to make changes to the technical data, design and configuration of the product in order to incorporate the latest technical developments. The most up-to-date documentation can always be found at www.dukaventilation.dk.
Important before installation
Before installation, servicing and maintenance, the power supply to the fan must be disconnected.
The fan is intended for fixed installation and must therefore be connected by an authorised installer.
The single-phase electricity grid must comply with applicable electrical codes and standards.
The installation must be equipped with an automatic circuit breaker.
The device must be connected to the mains power supply via a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) integrated into the fixed wiring.
Check the unit for visible damage to the fan and casing before starting installation. The internal parts of the casing must be free of foreign bodies that could damage the fan components.
Avoid applying pressure to the fan during installation. Damage to the casing can lead to motor failure and noisy operation. Incorrect use and unauthorised modifications are not permitted and will invalidate the warranty.
Ensure that smoke, carbon monoxide and other combustion gases cannot enter the room through open flue ways or other fire safety systems. Adequate air supply must be ensured for proper combustion and extraction of gases through the chimney to prevent downdraughts. Conveyed air must not contain dust or other solid material with impurities, sticky substances or fibrous materials.
Must not be used in explosive or hazardous environments with alcohol, fuel, spray agents, etc.
Air inlets and outlets must not be blocked to ensure optimal airflow.
For wall mounting
When the extractor fan is mounted in the wall, it must be turned with the electrical connections upwards. See the figure below.

When mounting on the ceiling
The joint between the fan spigot and the exhaust duct must be sealed 100% so that condensation can drain through the spigot.
Cable entries must be 100% sealed.
The damper must be removed to ensure natural ventilation at all times. If the damper is not removed, condensation can collect on the back, which can burn out the ventilation electronics. Please note that all pipework in a cold loft space must be insulated with at least 100 mm of insulation.
Assembly

The drawing shows the installation for DUKA Pro 30. The installation for Pro 70 and 90 follows the same procedure.
Types of ventilator
The fan ranges are designed for ventilation in bathrooms, but can also be used in other rooms where ventilation is required. The models are equipped with a foil non-return damper, which reduces draughts.
The film can easily be removed if you do not want to block the natural ventilation, and must be removed when mounting in the ceiling.
STD
The fans are switched on and off via an external switch.
T
The timer activates the overrun for the set time when it receives an impulse from the external switch.
Adjustable between 2-30 mins. (Factory setting 15 minutes)
TH
The fan is controlled by a humidity sensor and a timer. The humidity sensor switches the fan on when the set level is exceeded. Can be adjusted between 60-90%. The timer activates the delay function for the set time when it receives a signal from the external switch. It can be set between 2 and 30 minutes.
(Factory setting 15 minutes)
ST
With motion sensor and timer. The fan switches on when movement is detected at a distance of 1 - 4 m at an angle of up to approx. 100°. The timer activates the overrun for the set time when it receives an impulse from the external switch. Can be set between 2-30 minutes (factory setting 15 minutes).
All adjustments to the respective levels are carried out under the front cover. The settings must be made carefully using the supplied screwdriver.
Before changing the settings, the fan must be disconnected from the power supply.
The fan must only be connected to the mains electricity supply by a qualified electrician.

Sensor configuration

1. Switch off the power to the extractor fan.

2. Make requested changes

T – Timer (2 – 30 minutes)
H – Humidity sensor (60 – 90 %)
Technical maintenance
Maintenance means regular cleaning of the fan's surface. A soft, damp cloth with a mild soapy solution should be used. Wipe the surface dry afterwards with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid getting water on the motor and circuit board.
1. Disconnect the power to the fan.

2. Remove the front panel.

3. Clean the fan blades with a dry, soft cloth or brush.

4. Clean the front panel. Wipe the front until it is dry again.

5. Fit the front panel.

6. Switch on the power to the fan.

Transport and storage
Store the fan in its original packaging in a dry, well-ventilated room at a temperature of between +5 ºC and +40 ºC and a relative humidity of up to 70 %.
The storage room must not contain aggressive and chemical vapours.
The fan must not be subjected to continuous pressure and load.
NOTE: All electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The fan may be transported by any vehicle, provided that it is protected against damage during transport and the elements.
The fan must be protected against knocks and impacts throughout the entire journey
